Future Technology-Next Generation Car Without Steering

In The News :-

We have been running on various prototypes-of-prototypes, each designed to test different systems e.g., the typical "car" parts same steering, braking, computer & sensors. We have now put all those schemes collectively in this fully structural vehicle.

General Motors Co. is preparing to talk with Google about autonomous cars. A day before GM spokesman said the auto maker isn't actively looking for a tech partner but is open to talking with Google or any company i.e., working on automotive encouragements.

Autonomous Car :-

Google's paradigm two-seater 'bubble' cars have buttons to start and end the drive, but no other controls. Under the imagination disclosed by Google, passengers might set their goal by typing it into a map or using dictations.

Working :-

  • The cars are also hoped to be electric, able of going 160 km before wanting to be charging.
  • The frontal of the vehicle has a soft foam-like material where a conventional bumper would be and a more flexible windshield, in an effort to be safer for pedestrians crossing.
  • The paradigms are limited to speeds of 40 km/h and the quality to self-drive will depend on specifically configured Google road maps proven on the company’s current collection of vehicles.
  • A collection of radar, lasers and cameras sitting on top of the roof give the car a 360-degree ‘view’, with sensing element linked to computer software program able to ‘see’ and identify road, signs, cars,  people, and traffic lights.

Benefits :-

  • Accidents would not occur if autonomous vehicle technology would be accelerated, will result in a much safer journey.
  • Autonomous cars can reduce greenhouse effect.
  • Due to the sensing technology allows car to pack closer collectively shorting traffic time period.

Demerits :-

  • Computer malfunctioning or hacking or crashing, resulting in a major collision.
  • Attackers might cause chaos by crashing cars into one another.
